Water Stations & Bottled Water
New Water Stations and Bottled Water
This season, you'll notice a significant change when you get in your golf cart. All of the plastic water bottles are gone! We'll be replacing the water bottles with extra sand and seed mix in the cooler on the golf cart, which we'll expect you to use when taking a divot.
Where are the water stations located?
We have installed new ice and water stations outside of the Pro Shop and the Palmer House for your convenience. There is also an ice and water station at the halfway house after the 10th green.
Plastic water bottles are still available, for the time-being, in the water coolers on the course, located at the driving range, short game area, behind #9, 2/12 tee boxes, and 8 fairway/15 green.
Why are we making this change?
Last year, each day, we would stock our golf carts with six plastic water bottles and would go through over one pallet of plastic water bottles every week in season! With over 24,000 rounds of golf, and almost an equal amount of members using the range independent of their round of golf, the amount of waste we're reducing is significant. Over 450 plastic water bottles per day, most likely over 100,000 plastic water bottles annually, just from what we stock in the golf carts.
What can you do to help?
We're looking to reduce our plastic water bottle waste and be more efficient and green in our efforts. We would encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle from home, and we do have them available for sale in the pro shop as well. The more our membership brings their own water bottle, the quicker we can reduce the water bottle usage in the coolers on the course as well.
