Masters Week was one for the Ages!

What a run by Scott Scheffler!  He had some incredible up and downs and we saw some great shots under pressure.  It was also great to see Tiger Woods return and play the weekend, what a comeback!

Among all of the competitors, along the way, there were many times that we saw some errant shots though too.  Some lost balls, shots that found the water, unplayable lies, and shots from the pine straw even!  What happens when you find yourself with an unplayable lie, or a ball resting on a cart path?

This brings up a point that we are faced with all too often, when are you allowed to substitute a golf ball?

Here is the most common myth:  You are only allowed to substitute a golf ball when it becomes damaged.

That is inaccurate.

Substitution of your golf ball is allowed for:

Lost Ball

Cart Path Interference

When your ball is stuck in a tree and can't play it

Unplayable lies

Embedded Ball

on and on and on.....

Here is a very easy way to remember.....

Substitution is allowed ANY TIME YOU TAKE RELIEF, including free relief and penalty relief.  It's that simple!
