USGA Rolls the Golf Ball Back.....

This week the USGA announced they are rolling back the golf ball.  Starting in 2028 for Professional competition and in 2030 for every golfer, the golf ball that you currently play will be non-conforming.  This decision from the USGA aims to reduce the impact increased hitting distances have on golf's long-term sustainability while minimizing the impact on the recreational game.  

The decision comes at an interesting time, where recreational golf is at an all time high, more people are playing the game than ever before, men's professional golf is at a cross-roads with LIV, and now we have a golf ball roll back coming in the future.  I don't recall hearing any golfer after their round say to me, "wow I hit the ball too far, I need to hit it shorter"
