Open Championship Week and Pace of Play

It's my favorite Major of the year, mainly because it's probably the one I can watch the most of being that I can wake up at 4am and watch it all morning.  For most TOUR events and Majors, I'll be at the club or with the family and will miss the action.  Not this one!  Links golf at its finest and anyone can win this Championship.

Not that I'm going to compare Laurel Creek to the Old Course, but our layout has many inspirations and similarities from links style golf from overseas.  Think about the rolling terrain, the blind shots, the fine fescue, the wind, and the list can go on and on...(minus the houses)....

The R&A believe it or not, also has a strict pace of play policy in place for their competitions including the Open!  Our pace of play guidelines for our championships are mirrored after the PGA, USGA, and R&A, so when you see me rolling up and asking you to pick up the pace or put you on the clock.  Imagine the Rules Official that has to do that to Tiger Woods or Lexi Thompson in a Major Championship!

Pace of Play is not only an important aspect in daily play, but it is a part of the competition.  Please be aware of any pace of play policy in an event you play, and especially on a daily basis for the enjoyment of the entire membership.
